WHO ARE WE?

OUR MISSION
Mysore Grahakara Parishat (MGP) was founded on March 15, 1989 – World Consumer Rights Day – at the CFTRI Hall in Mysore. Inspired by the Consumer Protection Act of 1987 and the global consumer rights movement, MGP was established to empower citizens of Mysore through awareness, advocacy, and action. Over three decades, MGP has engaged with numerous government bodies including the Mysore City Corporation, MUDA, Karnataka State Pollution Control Board, KSRTC, CESCOM, and the District Administration. The organisation has taken up issues ranging from water supply and road safety to consumer court cases and environmental protection. MGP’s allied organisations include Parisara (its environmental wing), CERC Trust, and Mysore Youth Forum (MYF), each addressing specific aspects of civic and consumer welfare in the region.
